WalMart closes store rather than tolerate union

Once again, WalMart has shown its disdain for the people it employs.

Kathy! That's a little judgemental don't you think? As a former administrative law judge, I had a great deal of training in vocational rehabilitation. The average Walmart job is an SVP of 2, which means that a monkey trained for 5 minutes could perform it. All Walmart needs is unskilled people and it pays them above minimum wage. What do these people expect? Many of them are high school drop outs, some illiterate--I don't understand the entitlement mentality of these people wanting more than what they have acheived. Unions have killed many an American business. Unions have been necessary in the past and are necessary at times now--but I hardly think Wally World would be one of those instances.

Everyone -- no matter their intelligence or education level -- deserves protection from predatory employment practices. Walmart engages in both. Well, that's a valid argument. Except that in towns where Walmart opens a store, there often aren't any of those kinds jobs anymore except at Walmart.

Besides, don't corporations have some moral responsibility to treat their workers decently?

Frankly, Jack, you're displaying an unattractive disregard and distain for the lower class from your perch at the top of the education and employment food chains.
