The Internets have been clamoring (OK, two people asked me) for pics of our new home. We've been busy settling in:
Welcome! We just installed the fence so we can get a dog.
This is technically the "hearth room," but as you can see, it's being used as my craft room. Lots of space.
If you look really closely, you may be able to spot a few items that were not purchased at IKEA.
This is the view while cooking. Helen often sits and plays in that space between the couch and chairs. That furniture is new, and the rest of this area will be painted and decorated. (That color in the back of the shelves is literally baby-poop green, and that same color was used in the dining room!) Speaking of dining, we're having an awesome local (half a mile from our house) company build our table.
Mixer! We're also having the cabinets painted.
Just planted this tulip tree.
We amended the soil in a patch of our front yard that was just bare dirt with a little leftover mulch. The zinnias did great! We also grew some beets and spinach from seeds. I've many omelets made with spinach from the garden.
That's all for now. I'll take some pics of our neighborhood on our next walk. The farmers market down the street is all decked out for fall.
