We are solar!

Last month we had solar panels installed on our roof. So far, the system has generated 1.21 gigawatts! Just kidding. It's 245 kilowatt hours(kWh). Put one way, that's enough electricity to power 10 100-watt lightbulbs for 245 hours. Put another, our house typically uses 900 kWh per month.

Of course, the system will generate much more electricity during the long, cloudless days of summer.

We got our system from REgrid Power, btw.

Well, if you get a Prius, and hack it to plugin, you can have a solar-powered car. :)

Congratulations! Good luck with further reductions to your environmental footprint.

Nice. Don't forget to hose off the pollen periodically. It was wreaking havoc on our system before someone told us.

By the way, speaking of ecological footprints, I finally tried to get some biking mileage through payroll. They were having none of it, and docked me $1.90 from my expense report. Mike Naar's presenting at our all-staff meeting next week, so I'm going to let him have it.
