Manic Monday!

It looks like there is FINALLY some physical movement happening on the future site of the Redwood City In N Out.

This is disappointing, but not exactly surprising. At least it frees up Kiefer to be in lots more terrible movies.

I truly hate Heidi more and more every year.

Celebrity fans to buy Cubs?

Fans owning the team can't be bad, right?

Suspension of disbelief

You really need a lot of it to watch 24 this season, if the first four hours are any indication. Let's see... Tony is not dead because of ...some kind of... injection? And U.S. air traffic control, water plants and electricity are all behind one firewall? OK. And that's just scratching the surface.

Speaking of 24... you really need to be at least as far to the right as Joel Surnow to put up with living in the Midwest if there's nothing else stopping you from living in California.

kiefer-rocks.com

How much does Kiefer rock? He was on the Tonight Show earlier this week talking about how he rides his bike around LOS ANGELES to pick up stuff like his scripts and puts them in the basket on his bike! *swoon!*

Why, TV, why?!?

The most ridiculous show on TV gets more ridiculous. The most satisfying show with the most dreamy guy is screwed by the writers strike until next year. And the best comedy currently in production has no second season in sight. Why do we bother even having a satellite dish? Oh wait, I remember: so I can watch the Cubs not get into the World Series for the hundredth year in a row.

Another "Day", another $10 mil for Kiefer

The second best thing about 24 (besides its Keiferliciousness) is that when it ends, it ends.

John Cusack, aka milkshake mofo

Last night we watched The Ice Harvest, an odd, but watchable movie. It reminded me of the milkshake quote, excerpted from this blog, found searching google for the milkshake quote:

I think Chuck Klosterman, in his excellent book Sex, Drugs, And Coco Puffs, summed up Cusack's appeal best:

It appears that countless women born between the years of 1965 and 1978 are in love with John Cusack. I cannot fathom how he isn't the number-one box-office star in America, because every straight girl I know would sell her soul to share a milkshake with that motherfucker. For upwardly mobile women in their twenties and thirties, John Cusack is the neo-Elvis. But here's what none of these upwardly mobile women seem to realize: They don't love John Cusack. They love Lloyd Dobler.

Lloyd Dobler, of course, is the hero from the 80s flick Say Anything. A charming, lovable and sometimes goofy teenager, Dobler uttered one of my favorite movie quotes of all time, in a scene in which he tries to explain his future plans to his potential girlfriend's father:

I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that.
